FURIES OF MOTHER JONES, by Maxine Klein, is a rare working class musical by Obie Award-winning radical playwright and theatre-visionary Maxine Klein.  This gutsy historical drama proudly tells the story of America's incomparable activist, union organizer, and unstoppable rabble-rouser Mary Harris Jones.  Weaving together the recent history of struggling West Virginia Coal Miners of the 1960s with Mother Jones' storied Turn-of-the-Century Era union battles, THE FURIES OF MOTHER JONES offers an impassioned testament to the sacrifices of everyday working people to win many of the rights we take for granted today. 

Our rendition is directed by emerging stage artist and indy musician Megan Callahan and features the virtuoso talents of local actress/singer Sharon Strait as the infamous Mother Jones with musical accompaniment by Buffalo's own beloved bluegrass balladeers The Erie Lackawanna Railroad Band.
